ANU hosts many special research projects with a development focus funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and/or other bodies. Research undertaken here employs innovative methodologies together with a solid grounding in theory. Creative interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged.
Development research is conducted in the Crawford School of Economics and Government, the Department of Anthropology, the Division of Economics, The Department of International Relations, the Resource Management in Asia-Pacific Program, the Gender Relations Project, and Human Geography - all in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies; the School of Archaeology and Anthropology, and the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research all in the College of Arts and Social Sciences; and the Fenner School of Environment and Society. There are close links with other disciplines within the University such as Southeast Asian Studies.
